Privacy policy
Konfeti lets a group sign a shared card. This page explains what that involves. Last updated 2026-10-13.
Accounts are optional
You can use Konfeti without signing up. If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google to back up your cards, we keep the anonymous user id Apple or Google gives us, your profile name and, if you set one, your profile photo. We do not ask for or keep your email address, phone number or a password. You can delete your account at any time in Settings; this deletes the account and the cards it owns.
What is stored
For each card: the recipient’s name, the occasion, the optional “from” line and the card’s language. For each message: the name and text the writer typed, a photo if they added one, and — for messages written from the app — the writer’s profile photo if they set one. Your profile name and photo are otherwise kept only on your phone. If the card’s creator allows notifications, a push token for their phone, used only to tell them when the card is signed or opened.
Who can see a card
Anyone with a card’s link can read it and add a message. Links are long and random, but share them only with people you want to sign. Do not put information in a card that you would not want the group to see.
Reports
Anyone can report a message. To count different people rather than repeated taps, we store a one-way hash of the reporter’s IP address, never the address itself.
Where data is kept
Cards and photos are stored with Cloudflare (Cloudflare D1 and R2) in Europe. Photos are deleted automatically one year after they are added. Notifications are delivered through Expo’s push service and Apple/Google. We do not sell data, show ads or use tracking or analytics tools.
Deleting
A writer can delete their own message from the same browser. The card’s creator can remove any message or delete the whole card from the app; this removes its messages and photos.
Children
Konfeti is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal data.
